From the recordings What's Out There and What's Out There
After hearing an interview with Bruce Springsteen I decided to write a Springsteen-type song where - á la Bruce - the chorus is fueled by hope and redemption.

Lyrics
[G]I've been on this dusty Earth seems forever
[G]Worn all my boots down through their soles
[D]Eyes open to what's ahead
Heart [Am/G]aching for a shared bed
[G]Dreams trying to reach down for the [D]road
Chorus
I've been looking for a [Am]lucky day
To finally give my [Em]world a say
On whether [Bm]it stays lost and [G]broken
or finds a [D]smile
I've been looking for a lucky day
Twenty-four hours to stray
from my usual dark corners
to wide open miles
My past seems to always hang around with my present
Like rain hangin' 'round the clouds
My teardrops fall, try hide my lies
Memories bring out sharpened knives
That slice me to the core without a sound
Chorus
Chorus
I've been looking for a [Am]lucky day
To finally give my [Em]world a say
On whether [Bm]it stays lost and [G]broken
or finds a [D]smile
I've been looking for a lucky day
Twenty-four hours to stray
from my usual dark corners
to wide open miles
So I'll keep on headin' toward those tomorrows
Where I know there's gotta be an open door
I'll drop all my baggage and push on through
Into a free life, start anew
And leave behind all of those unsettled scores
Chorus

I've been looking for a [Am]lucky day
To finally give my [Em]world a say
On whether [Bm]it stays lost and [G]broken
or finds a [D]smile
I've been looking for a lucky day

from my usual dark corners
