07. I Still Remember You

A year or so after Kimberlee died I remember thinking that if I could think of her 500 times a day instead of 1,000 I would be making progress. Then on a Superbowl Sunday I had friends over for a party. After the party I realized that for three hours I had lived in the now and hadn’t allowed thoughts of Kimberlee to flood my head. It was the first time where I thought I might make it through her death.

Even though I stopped crying for you at night

I still remember you

And while I can laugh out loud and feel all right

I still remember you

I still remember you

On my road trips heading south

I still remember you

Lying under stars at a river’s mouth

I still remember you

I still remember you

Chorus

While I’m walking

I remember you

While I’m talking

I remember you

While I’m breathing

I remember you

I remember you

Oh, darling, you know it’s true

I will never forget about you

I remember you

Chorus

Even though my love has moved along

I still remember you

And while right now I right different songs

I still remember you

I still remember you

So I’ll live the life you didn’t get

I still remember you

To honor your love I’ll leave no regrets

I still remember you

I still remember you
