06. Gotta Live Your Life

I wrote this song after I found out my best friend, Ralph, was back in the hospital. He had been living with cancer for 23 years and had always been an inspiration to me and hundreds of others. In 2005, when I told him that Kimberlee had brain cancer the first words out his mouth were, “You have to keep on living.” And that’s what Ralph did. He lived his life to the fullest even through all of the cancer treatments. I miss you, buddy.

Gotta live your life

Gotta live your life, Ralph says

Gotta live you life

Gotta live your life, get it in your head

When the train runs off the tracks

Work hard to get your life back

Gotta live your life

Gotta live your life, Ralph says

Gotta live you life

Gotta live your life, get it in your head

When your world falls apart

Make a new day, a brand new start

Gotta live your life

Gotta live your life, Ralph says

Gotta live you life

Gotta live your life, get it in your head

Bridge

And when you find yourself on your knees

You can stay there, it’s okay, you’ll see

From all that pain you will find strengthTo get up again, to live again

Chorus

When your world knocks you down

Follow Ralph and come back around

Bridge

Gotta live your life

Gotta live your life, Ralph says
