09. Fingerprints

Dad Gindling

A fun little love song I wrote for Susan. After I played it to her the first time she hurried into my backyard and ran her hands through the dirt.

You’ve got your fingerprints all

over my life

When I wasn’t lookin’

you touched all my stuff

But I don’t mind, ’cause

it makes you that much easier for me to find

I found your fingerprints

on my heart

I didn’t know you’d been there, but

I don’t really care, ’cause

I’ve got my fingerprints all over

your heart, too

Chorus

Fingerprints in the pudding

Fingerprints on all my shirts

Fingerprints upon fingerprints on

everything but my backyard dirt

I’m glad your fingerprints are deep

inside my dreams?

Now when I go to sleep at night

I know I don’t need to fright on

what’s hiding under my bed

and other nighttime spooky things

Chorus

You’ve got your fingerprints all

over my life

When I wasn’t looking

you touched all my stuff

But I don’t mind, ’cause

it made you

that much easier for me to find

It made you so much easier for me to find
